Across 30 clubs, being good at runs scored per game moderately goes with being good at isolated power (SLG − AVG) (r = 0.56). The Cubs are the best combination of the two.

Each axis is flipped where lower is better, so the top-right corner is always good on both.

How to read it

Dashed lines mark the league median on each axis; the shaded corner is good on both. The dashed diagonal is the least-squares line and r is the correlation across the 30 clubs — thirty points is a small sample, so an r under about 0.35 is within what chance produces. Stats are raw season figures from the MLB Stats API, not adjusted for park or schedule. Not park-adjusted: our own park factors put Coors Field at 1.11 — about 11% more runs than a neutral park.
